Expert Solution
Step 1-Introduction

Heterocyclic compounds have one or more heteroatoms such as oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur apart from carbon in the ring structure. For example, the presence of nitrogen in the five-membered ring produces the pyrrole in which a lone pair resides on the nitrogen.

The various structures obtained by the migration of non-bonding electrons between the atoms are termed as resonance structures. The presence of a greater resonance structure for a molecule/ion increases its stability. The carbanion is produced by the attack of the base on the most acidic hydrogen.
