Quadrant sampling :
Quadrant is basically a square or frame in which in which we know how many species are present in particular area or habitat. There are many organisms ,organisms are present in particular habitat so, its not easy for us to calculate. so, we calculate smaller amount of population which is done by using quadrant sampling.
It is used to measure the distribution and abundance of an organism.
- To calculate number of quadrant we have to divide total area of habitat by area of one quadrant .
- Relative frequency is defined as the ratio of sum of area of given species to its total area.
according to question area of each quadrant is given that is 200 m(sq) and types of plants are persimmon, cedar elm and mesquite.
