A uniform platform with mass M=30 kg and length L=15 m is placed on two supports as shown. The distance between the supports is a= 6 m, and force F= %3D 340 N is applied as shown with distance b = 4 m. The system is in static equilibrium. (a) Find normal force FN1 in Newtons. FN1 FN2 (b) Find normal force FN2, in Newtons, exerted by the supports on the platform.

Question

My book has the answers as

a) 10N

b) 196N

But I can't figure out the proper way to work it out.

I figured you start by using torque and the weight of the board plus the forces of each support to make a equation for Fn1. Then once you solve for it go back and make a equation for Fn2. But I'm not getting the answers in my book when I do this.
