ATP is highly unstable compound which spontaneously dissociates into its products (ADP+Pi ) and releases high energy which is fetched by other nonspontaneous reactions. ATP has two ‘high-energy’ phophoanhydride bonds which are highly unstable and have high stored bond energy, whereas, phosphoester bond is stable and requires high energy to dissociate the bond.
