Sir George Étienne Cartier and Sir John Alexander Macdonald are significant figures in the political history of Canada. Both of the politicians were known as the Father of the confederation. John Alexander Macdonald was born in 1815 in Scotland. In the Canada Rebellion of 1837, Macdonald was on the side of the British loyalists. Sir George Étienne Cartier was born in 1814 in Lower Canada. Cartier had significant role in madness of 1837. however, he was on the sides of the Patriotes during the Lower Canada Rebellion.
