3. In the final round of the Golden Balls game show, two contestants each make a decision to split or steal the final jackpot. If both choose split, they split. If both chose steal the get nothing. If one choses split and the other steal, then the steal contestant get the whole prize. Here is data collected from the show. Split Steal Total Younger Older Total 187 195 382 116 76 192 303 271 574 Test whether or not the proportion who decision to split is significantly different between the younger and older age groups. Be sure to show all the details of your test, including any conditions you must meet, Ho, Ha, test statistic, p-value, and the conclusion of your test.
Inverse Normal Distribution
The method used for finding the corresponding z-critical value in a normal distribution using the known probability is said to be an inverse normal distribution. The inverse normal distribution is a continuous probability distribution with a family of two parameters.
Mean, Median, Mode
It is a descriptive summary of a data set. It can be defined by using some of the measures. The central tendencies do not provide information regarding individual data from the dataset. However, they give a summary of the data set. The central tendency or measure of central tendency is a central or typical value for a probability distribution.
Z-Scores
A z-score is a unit of measurement used in statistics to describe the position of a raw score in terms of its distance from the mean, measured with reference to standard deviation from the mean. Z-scores are useful in statistics because they allow comparison between two scores that belong to different normal distributions.
This is a problem on my review for my final exam, and I can't figure out how to solve it based on the things I know. Some help would be greatly appreciated!
