2a. After World War II, a political rivalry started between two major countries which were the United States and the Soviet Union. Basically, the end of World War II was a landmark in world politics and it was also the starting of the Cold War. The rise of two superpowers started the rivalry between US and USSR. This rivalry was silent and political which was known as Cold War.
