Background The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (SDG) was adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015. The Agenda calls for action by all countries to partner together in addressing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Specifically, SDG 9 and Target 9.c recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve universal access to information and communications technology (ICTs). In this regard, the access to and secure use of ICTs mitigates risks that may impact the socioeconomic aspirations of society and industry and thus impede sustainable development. Objectives of the Conference The main objective of the conference is to explore how IT governance efforts between governments and industry can be leveraged to advance opportunities and mitigate risks for sustainable growth with particular reference to the sub-Saharan Africa. The theme of the conference is “Optimizing IT governance for sustainable growth”. Papers are now invited for presentations addressing the following theme: § Optimizing IT governance for sustainable growth Required: In the context of the available national documents and relevant literature, draft a report for conference addressing the theme.
