Expert Solution

Step 1
For R , S configuration following steps are required
- Give each atom connected to the chiral center a priority based on its atomic number .The higher atomic number ,the higher priority .If connected atom is same then we see next connected atom .Higher priority gets 1 and lowest priority gets 4 .
- Draw an arrow starting from priority -1 and going to priority -3 .
- If priority -4 is away from view(or) priority -4 is on vertical line in fischer projection form then
Clockwise -> R
Anticlockwise -> S
- If priority -4 is towards view (or) priority -4 is on Horizontal line in fischer form
Clockwise -> S
Anticlockwise -> R
-> Even change at chiral center does not change configuration.
