Expert Solution
Step 1

Functional group: The atom or group of atoms of a molecule which can modify physical and chemical properties of the molecule is called functional group.

Keto functional group - the carbon of C=O connected directly with two other carbon atoms - (C-C(O)-C).

Ether functional group- The oxygen directly connected with two carbons - (C-O-C)

Primary Amine functional group - The Nitrogen is connected with one carbon unit and two hydrogens - (C-NH2)

Secondary amine - The nitrogen is directly connected with two carbon units and one hydrogen - (C-NH-C)

Tertiary amine - The nitrogen is directly connected with three carbons - (C)3N.

Alkene - The double bond is observed between two two carbon units - C=C.

Alkyne - Triple bond is observed between two carbon units - CC

Alcohol - The carbon is directly connected with OH - (C-OH)

Tertiary amide - The nitrogen of C=O directly connected with two carbon units - (C(O)-N(C)2

Note: the direct bonds with carbons are shown in the above functional groups, the hydrogens connected to the carbons are omitted.
