Is the difference in population variances statistically significant at alpha = 0.05?  Yes, it is statistically significant at alpha = 0.05. 2. Is the mean salary between men and women statistically significant at alpha = 0.01?  Yes, it is statistically significant at alpha = 0.01. 3. Report the effect size (Cohen-D distance) and its confidence interval, Is the effect large?   No, the effect is not large as these are independent samples. 4. Write the confidence interval for the difference in the mean salary between men and women at a confidence level = 0.99. Is the null hypothesis value in the interval?  Yes, it is in the interval (see next page).

Problem 2. Paired (dependent samples) T-test (40 points) - SPSS In the attached file “paired schizophrenia”, there is a sample of identical twins (two columns), one is affected by schizophrenia (AFFECTED) and the other is not (NOT AFFECTED). The variable being measured is the volume of the left hippocampus. -Perform a matched-pair t-test. Is there a statistically significant difference in the mean volume of left hippocampus between the affected and unaffected twins? Assume a significance level = 0.05. Note: You can reduce this problem in one sample mean t-test. Report the t-statistic, the P-value and state your conclusion. Since the in mean volume is more than 0.05, there is a statistically significant difference.
