Acquisition accel data over the week is present with an upward trend, with no variability present. The no variability can be hypothesized by successfully learning the flashcards over the course of the week and reaching AIM. The last accel point was 19 indicating that AIM was met for this deck. Acquisition decel data is present with a downward trend and no variability. The no variability can be hypothesized to the same reason as the acquisition accel.
Figure 3.1 displays the fluency data collected for the week of April 17 th - April 23 rd . As shown above, fluency accel is staying at a high level with low variability, indicating that fluency is maintaining. Fluency decel is present at a low level with no variability. Study Approach and Adjustments Antecedent: My current study plan has been proven to be effective during this week’s deck, and I am confident that it will be effective throughout the rest of the course and the upcoming decks. My first step was to set my weekly goal of 14 accel within deck 3. I then determined my reinforcer for the week if this goal was met by Friday. Current reinforcement procedures include, being reinforced by completing my SAFMEDS study time and data input by 9 pm nightly by watching a preferred television show. If I meet my weekly accel goal by Saturday night, I can then be reinforced with no studying on Sunday and have a relaxing weekend. Other antecedent procedures include creating a Quizlet page of the terms and learning through all the features that website offers to learn the terms. Additional procedures include going over the flashcards provided by the SAFMEDS study mode at least 5 days a week for at least 10-15 minutes, by saying them out loud, and writing down the definition and term for the ones I find most challenging on a piece of paper. Behavior: On days 1-5, I run five 30-second timings and take intermittent breaks in between each timing to overlook the flashcards I skipped or have gotten wrong. After my fifth timing I log my best score of the day to Precision X. For my fluency deck, I run three 30-second timings across 5 days. Data is analyzed for fluency following a timing. Consequence: Following my 5th timing for the day, I enter the data into Precision X immediately, and observe data across the week and deck to assess whether AIM is projected to be met, or if there is variability in the data. This week’s acquisition accel data has shown no variability and have already met the AIM for this week; therefore, no adjustments need to be made this week. For decel cards, extra studying time will be placed on the ones that have been marked as incorrect. I did receive my terminal reinforcer this week and hope to continue to reach my terminal reinforcer for the following decks throughout this course.
