If this quiz is not completed by the (end date) deadline, the score will be recorded as zero with no exceptions. You may do this homework as many times as you like. Only the last submission will count towards your grade. 15% penalty will be imposed after due date till next 3 days. The course ends on Feb 10, 2024 (11.59 PM) and nothing will be accepted after the end date. You will need to download the BODYFAT dataset and open it in Minitab before starting this homework. Excel File is here ( BodyFat (1).xls (https://canvas.ewu.edu/courses/1703706/files/114144174?wrap=1) (https://canvas.ewu.edu/courses/1703706/files/114144174/download?download_frd=1) BODY FAT DATA (Please download here) (https://canvas.ewu.edu/courses/1703706/files/114144125/download?wrap=1) (https://canvas.ewu.edu/courses/1703706/files/114144125/download?download_frd=1) Take the Quiz Again
The BODYFAT dataset was developed using randomly selected patients who were treated by a particular sports injury rehabilitation group. The purpose was to determine if girth (in centimeters) could be used to predict body fat (as a percentage) and to estimate the percentage of body fat (with 99% confidence) of a person who has a girth of 150cm. Girth is easily and accurately evaluated with a tape measure. Body fat percentage is measured via hydrostatic weighing, but this is too expensive and impractical to be easily deployed in most physicians' offices. Please conduct this analysis using a 1% significance level. 5 / 5 pts Question 1 What is the response variable for this analysis? Row number Girth Fat% 5 / 5 pts Question 2 What is the explanatory variable for this analysis? Girth Row number Fat%
5 / 5 pts Question 3 What type of data set is being analyzed? Medical Time-series Cross-sectional 5 / 5 pts Question 4 What value of alpha (as a proportion and not as a percent) will be used for this analysis? 0.01 5 / 5 pts Question 5 Please check the boxes for the following assumptions that have been met: Sample is reasonably representative of the population Central limit theorem is applicable Sample is large enough to support the analysis Independent variable is measured without error Predictions will not be extrapolating

It [ Select ] reasonable to continue the analysis because the graph does show the characteristic of being [ Select ] . is does linear 5 / 5 pts Question 7 Please run the regression using Minitab. Do not forget to store the standardized residuals or obtain the relevant graph. What value do you get for S (show four decimal places)? 5.0864 3 / 5 pts Question 8 Partial Partial
Answer 1: Answer 2: Answer 3: Answer 4: Answer 5: Please evaluate the residual assumptions: Level [ Select ] Homoscedastic [ Select ] Independent [ Select ] Normal met This regression has [ Select ] validity. met met not met met limited 5 / 5 pts Question 9 Please indicate the value of the test statistic (showing 2 decimal places) that indicates that this regression is useful.

Answer 6: Answer 7: Answer 8: is not assume is should 5 / 5 pts Question 11 Actual body fat percentage typically deviates from the predicted value by _____ percentage points (correct to four decimal points) 5.0864 5 / 5 pts Question 12 Girth explains _____ % of the variability in body fat percentage (correct to one decimal place). 67.1 5 / 5 pts Question 13
Increasing girth by one centimeter will increase average body fat percentage by _____ percentage points (correct to four decimal places). 0.5905 5 / 5 pts Question 14 A person with a girth of zero (??) centimeters will, on average, have a body fat percentage of _____ (correct to three decimal places). -36.24 5 / 5 pts Question 15 What body fat percentage can a person with a girth of 150cm reasonable expect (correct to three decimal places)? 52.339 5 / 5 pts Question 16 What is the lower bound of the average percentage of body fat (with 95% confidence) for all people who have a girth of 150cm (correct to three decimal places)?
45.471 5 / 5 pts Question 17 What is the upper bound of the percentage of body fat (with 95% confidence) for a person with a girth of 150cm (correct to three decimal places)? 64.658 15 / 15 pts Question 18 Answer 1: Answer 2: Which of the following best describes the conclusion that one would come to based on this analysis? The explanatory power of this regression suggests that girth is is a moderate predictor of body fat percentage. The standard error of the regression suggests that girth [ Select ] estimate body fat percentage to within 1.5% as does hydrostatic weighing. The 95% prediction interval for a person with a girth of 150cm [ Select ] a width of just under 25 percentage points, suggesting that this model [ Select ] reasonably estimate usefully for an individual. is a moderate
