Address and Refine Results Q4. How would you interpret the results of your analysis of Q1 in plain English? Why do you think the state of Arkansas had the highest transaction volume? Ans: Arkansas had the highest transaction volume out of all the states. I think Arkansas had the highest transaction volume because it is the home state of Dillard’s. Q5 .The analysis of Q2 addressed whether Arkansas had a statistically higher transaction volume than other states. How did the regression tests show or not show a statistical difference? Does this have any implications for the marketing for Dillard’s ? Do you think it is because Arkansas is the home base for Dillard’s ? Ans: The regression tests showed that Arkansas has a t stat value of 64.34331 which measures how many standard errors the coefficient is away from zero compared to intercept which had a t Stat value of 394.5377 which is a significant difference. Yes, this does have implications for marketing because since Arkansas has a higher transaction volume than the rest of the states, Dillard 's will essentially contribute to Arkansas more than they will to other states. Also, yes, I do think it is because Arkansas is the home base for them. Q6 .The regression analysis suggests that online sales are associated with greater transactions amounts. Why do you think that is so? Ans: Since there are more products available online than in physical stores, I believe that most people now shop online. Because doing so is quicker and easier than physically visiting a store, more individuals will purchase large quantities of goods online. The transaction amounts will increase as a result.
