2 In Early Childhood Education there are many factors that contribute to special education in a classroom. Meeting every child’s needs is especially important to make sure they are happy and feel at home in our classroom. Every child has unique needs that need to be met, more so with special education than any other. Every child is just as important as the next. All children should have the right to a good education. In some cases, though that is not true. Our education systems sometimes do not provide the best education for them. Sometimes education does not provide the correct services that children with special needs or disabilities, such as learning delays, need to succeed. Most children with disabilities struggle to get the education they need. There are 93 million children worldwide that have been diagnosed with a disability. Half of them skip some schooling or education due to their disabilities or developmental delays. This is because the education system is not up to the standards that the children need. As a result, these children are missing a vital education that they are going to need in the future. Having special education in early childhood education creates an equal education opportunity for them. It gives the children a chance to learn the same material but at a modified version that fits them. It also helps with social development. Special education in early childhood can help children strengthen their communication skills, make friendships, and interact with other people on a day-to-day basis. S ometimes it is hard for a child to do this, the instructors patiently teach them conflict management and drive their interpersonal relationships. Special Special Education 1
3 education can aid in physical and emotional development. Special education provides physical education. This type of education can help children with special needs by improving their motor skills, helping them achieve balance, improving their lifestyle, enhancing their muscles strength, and boosting endurance. Factors of physical education help to improve the child’s self-esteem and help them maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle. For emotional development, special children can have severe mood swings, which are worrisome for both the child and their family. Some children can also become self-destructive when experiencing emotional outbursts. Special education in early childhood helps with the problems of the child in time. Children learn to regulate their emotional changes and self-soothe during outbursts from the very beginning. Special education also helps with intellectual development. Cognitive development is also an essential factor of childhood development. Without intellectual development, a child may not be able to understand anything being taught to them. Nor will they be able to put the learned concepts into practice. Early childhood education is important for your child to perform later in life, no matter where they are. The importance of special education is undeniable, especially in the early years of a child’s life. Special education is essential for a child with special needs. Everyone needs to work together to spread awareness about disabilities and developmental delays, so the right steps can be taken for the children. The impact that special needs children make on my life makes me feel better as a person. The thought that after teaching them for so long and they finally catch on to what you are teaching is a feeling that I have never felt before. Special education in early Special Education 1
