CREATE AN OCEAN WORLD 2 My Intentional Teaching Plan Know List the three Developmental Domains AND List the three ELOF or ECE standards that align with the three dev domains and the intentional interaction. Central Domain:Approaches to Learning Subdomain: Creativity Goals for Sub-Domain: Goal P-ATL 13. Child uses imagination in play and interactions with others. Indicator: Uses imagination with materials to create stories or works of art. Central Domain: Language and Literacy Subdomain: Attending and Understanding Goals for Sub-Domain: Goal P-LC 2. Child understands and responds to increasingly complex communication and language from others. Indicator: Shows an understanding of complex statements, questions, and stories containing multiple phrases and ideas, and responds appropriately. Central Domain: Perception, Motor and Physical Subdomain: Fine Motor Goal for Sub-Domain: Goal P-PMP 3. Child demonstrates increasing control, strength, and coordination of small muscles Indicator: Performs tasks that require more complex hand-eye coordination, such as cutting out shapes and drawing letter-like forms, with moderate levels of precision and control. Describe the intentional interaction with detail that aligns with three developmental domains and ELOF Standards Teacher will bring in several items that are loose, rocks, sand, and bin to put them in, some small fake plants, and toy ocean animals. This is the part of the activity that connects to approaches to learning, creativity. The teacher will also provide books that the children have to reference to real life world examples of what they are creating. This is the part of
CREATE AN OCEAN WORLD 3 the activity that connects to language and literacy, Children can use the books to start the conversation and spark the activity. Putting the activity together will involve children using their hands and fingers, which is indicating of fine motor skills. Describe the setting and list materials you will need. Children will be provided all the supplies at a table during free choice, they will be invited to explore the items and to create their own ocean. Items needed: glass beads, rocks, sand, and bin to put them in, some small fake plants, and toy ocean animals. How will this interaction positively affect children’s learning within the three dev. Domains you identified above? Central Domain: Perception, Motor and Physical Fine Motor Children will pick up items from the collection and place them in the bin in any order and arrangement. They will use their hands and fingers to pick each items up. This will strengthen the muscles in their hands. Central Domain: Approaches to Learning Subdomain: Creativity Children will be using all the items to arrange them into a creative pattern. Using their imagination that they are creating their own ocean scene, with items that they can identify relating to the real ocean. Central Domain: Language and Literacy Subdomain: Attending and Understanding Children willl use books provided to explore books provided by the teacher, this will generate ideas for children. The teacher will provide guidance and support to help the children understand the concepts behind the ocean. The children will then create an ocean scene using their imagination. Finally, the teacher will observe and assess the children's understanding of the concepts. See/Do

CREATE AN OCEAN WORLD 4 What will you see yourself doing? What will you say and what questions will you ask? Be specific and descriptive. First I will talk to the children about the ocean and what we have learned about this topic, referencing the books we’ve looked at and already explored as a class. I will be near and present to monitor and suggest I will help the children create an ocean world by providing them with materials they can use. I will also provide guidance and support as needed. Lastly, I will ask the children to explain their creations and what they have learned about the ocean. Open-ended questions: Tell me about the pieces you have? What are you going to do with that piece? Tell me about these items? How are you going to create your ocean? What other things does the ocean have? What can we do with this item? What will you see the children doing? Be specific and descriptive. The children will be exploring the items at the table, referencing what they have already They will also be discussing the items with each other, asking questions and providing answers. The children will be engaged in moving the items into the bin or tray. The children may sort items into groups or putting them into different areas of the bin. Reflect How will you know if you were successful? Please use this doc to reflect on your success. Intentional Teaching Add the examples you have planned for each box Child Choice Allowing the children to explore all the items. Deciding what their ocean will look like and what items they want to incorporate. Expanding Language through questions and comments Hearing children use words that are related to the ocean: waves, sand, dunes, palm trees, etc. Answering
CREATE AN OCEAN WORLD 5 the teacher’s questions about the items that they are choosing and arranging. Positive Relationship The interactions will be between child to child and teacher to child. This activity will also encourage children to share materials and space. Plan your focus for filming the Intentional Interaction Plan your focus before you prepare to film the intentional interaction. What are you hoping to learn from your intentional interaction video? Example Teaching pedagogy, developmental framework, interaction, developmental or learning outcome, aspect of knowledge, belief or value. Allowing you to practice the discipline of concentrating your attention on one or two important aspects of professional practice. The focus of my plan is to see learning and outcomes in real time. Allowing me to hear myself ask open ended questions and to see how interactive, engaging, and expansive this activity to the age group.
