2 In my reflection on this semester's information literacy course, I learned that information literacy is the ability to find needed information, evaluate its credibility, use the information in the correct, ethical form, and communicate this information to your readers (For Students: Information Literacy | Information Literacy | Array, n.d.). From a global perspective, certain groups may have greater information literacy than others. This is correct as various groups may put in the effort to understand information literacy more fully. Certain groups, for instance, place a high importance on information literacy since it enables them to advance, become more skilled than others, and acquire higher levels of education. Information access is essential to a group's ability to become literate. Compared to less privileged groups, some are more privileged and have access to more knowledge. Certain people select the information they wish to know, even if becoming literate can depend on one's social standing. They refuse to learn more about the themes since they are ignorant of the subject and dislike certain writers or topics. Information literacy is crucial for society's social and economic development. Individuals' ability to read, write, communicate, and understand is highly effective in today's world (Fall, 2015). In 1994, Bill Clinton said, "Literacy is not a luxury; it is a right and a responsibility. If our world is to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century, we must harness the energy and creativity of all our citizens." Therefore, Literacy is essential to economic growth, crime reduction, disease prevention, and a reduction in poverty by gaining access to information and having a better understanding of that information (Alive, 2020, para. 1). Our future generations are in a difficult position because society denies information. In other words, society is not giving anything up; rather, some information is not shown to some groups or is released with questionable veracity. Even in this case, society's social and economic development is harmed.
3 Sincerely, I believe that in the rapidly changing technological world of today, people read and investigate information more than they used to. Now that everything is at our fingertips, we Google anything we want to know at that precise moment. To be honest, the importance of literacy varies depending on the person or group. It is acceptable in certain ways that most society prioritizes knowledge that they feel good about themselves or could help them achieve their goals. Nevertheless, knowledge that benefits a collective could alter everyone's perspective. Some organizations do not wish to advance their level of knowledge since they are content with it as it is. Literacy depravity results from the fact that many groups are knowledgeable but lack the communication skills necessary to effectively share their knowledge with others. Everyone who has a broader understanding of literacy is regarded as an educator, just like professors and instructors. People who buy reliable information and give it have educated everyone they have shared it with. Sometimes, certain social groups can only learn in this way. The quote by E.O. Wilson from Consilience: The Unit of Knowledge "We are drowning in information while starving for wisdom. The world henceforth will be run by synthesizers, people able to put together the right information at the right time, think critically about it, and make important choices wisely" (2021). The levels of information literacy and society's ability to obtain and absorb information should be valued by all. A generous part of the collegiate academic environment uses information literacy. Essays, research papers, and research papers with group participation are a few examples of these goals. A higher education degree can only be obtained through information literacy, which is easy to perform and understand. Information literacy is emphasized by professors, instructors, and librarians as being crucial for students to succeed in college and their professional endeavors. Students will buy and understand the literacy steps if they are given the tools to become information literate through schooling. I will be aware of the

4 phases of information literacy going forward because I have learned them and used them for some of this course's assignments. In conclusion, I have improved my information literacy in this session. I have also learned the proper methods for getting information and can now convey it clearly and accurately. Sharing and communicating information is analogous to being an educator, as I have said previously. Educating others enhances the intelligence of our social group. We have improved the planet as a collective if that circle follows suit, and so forth. Without a doubt, this training has improved my intelligence and will help me in my future professional endeavors.
