Consider this when answering questions 6-10. 6. Explain the term Country in relation to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander culture. To Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander the term Country is related to their identity, this is a feeling of belonging to them, bringing out their relationship to their land, past present and future connection. The country that their ancestors created and considered more than just country, more as their land, animals, water sources and a way of survival. 7. Describe one way how the loss of land/Country has impacted Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander social structure and relationships. Loss of land for the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people caused isolation and disconnection from their community, causing strain on families and their cultural gatherings. Bringing grief and loss on all of them and their practices. Their community was broken, dispense from land caused poverty and lack in education, the Aboriginal people relied on their land to provide them food and water services, as well a source of income. White Laws impacted how the Aboriginal live, when the white laws' over-right their laws, disrupting loss of identity and virtual practices that are no longer allowed due to lose of cultural land. 8. Describe how Aboriginal people’s relationship with the land ensured economic survival. Aboriginal people's main source of income came from land sources and animals, this being their main source of food and water as well. Resulting in not only loss of income but malnutrition. Aboriginal people hunted the land for survival and did not leave dead animals left around. They relied on land sources to build shelters, provide food sources, this way the land expansion had better life at the time the Aboriginal people looked after it other than Western developments. The land provided to them with all they needed to survive, they did not need to pay, remove, or take from the land, no source of income was needed they relied on living from what the land provided. 9.
