The Insight Program o This program is located in Roswell, Ga. They offer support groups specifically for teens. This includes three weekly 12 step meetings and two weekly sober social events. All of the events are attended by their substance abuse treatment programs and allow for the teens to be able to connect with other children their age where they can have sober fun and be themselves. o Sarah has no friends her age and needs a new normal that does not consist of abuse or substance use. This program will allow her to attend a group that is just for teens who are battling substance abuse. It also offers her the chance to interact with kids her age and not be worried about needing drugs to have fun. North Fulton Treatment Center o This center is also located in Roswell, GA. They offer medication assisted opiate treatment. They offer a professional evaluation with a licensed professional counselor to determine the best treatment option. They also offer individual, group, and family therapy. Within this center is a stabilization unit that aims to create long-term sobriety. o Due to the amount of drugs that she is now consuming, Sarah may required medication assisted detox to reduce the symptoms she is likely to have when she begins to withdraw. They will also offer her individual and family therapy. The family therapy may allow for her and her mother to develop a better relationship so that she does not have to go back into a situation in which she is being abuse therefore threatening her sobriety. o This resource can access over 3,000 statewide resources. It provides information on counseling and support services, child abuse and prevention, family violence concerns, and community resources for emergency assistance. o If Sarah reports the abuse, this service can connect her with services to remove her from the home and find an alternative to her living situation. She will never be able to get sober if she continues to be abused living with her mother. Child Help o This is a national child abuse hotline that is staffed 24/7 with professional crisis counselors who have access to emergency, social, and support resources. It is not just a resource for mandatory reports but also for children who are being abused. o Similar to the previous resource, she can report the abuse. This can be done anonymously if she chooses. They also provide resources for children who are looking for help when there is abuse or family violence. It will offer her help 24/7 so she can always have something there to help her.
