Clash of Globalizations Examines how globalization changes how countries cooperate, affecting their usual ways of working together. They highlight challenges in addressing global issues like inequality and crises, suggesting that everyone needs to band together to improve everyone’s situation. Globalization has boosted non-state actors and terrorism, shaking up the old way countries interact. Teamwork is necessary to combat global issues, pointing out problems with today's globalization. The author questions the idea that globalization is a perfect world and argues that self- interest, not kindness, guides countries and companies in this globalized era. I disagree with author, but not entirely. Of course there is going to be some form of self-interest for one’s own country or themselves. I think NATO is a excellent example of globalization being a positive thing and how it can bring countries together. In Defense of Globalization The author argues that economic globalization can positively impact social issues like reducing poverty and supporting women's rights. They stress the importance of good rules to handle problems, and caution in making economic and political changes, suggesting extra policies for faster progress. Global economic connections can help reduce poverty, support women's rights, and promote global gender equality. Good governance can help with any downsides and ensure social progress. Progress can be sped up through careful adjustments in economic and political reforms. I think when it comes to the positives of globalization, I think of the rapid growth and poverty rates going down in both China and India. With the opening of trade and direct foreign investment, it has boosted their economies. I would have to say that I agree with the author with globalization’s potential benefits for several countries. Spike article: I disagree with author because there are several regions that have excelled and have grown without having access to the advantages other regions have. Once again, China and
India are great examples of this, as they their growth in technology and innovations have helped their economy grow.
