Principles and Doctrines Taught: We had a discussion about the principles and doctrines of The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that they taught and testified of Which were the importance of Faith and
The Power of Forgiveness. Insights Gained: The Importance of Faith in Jesus Christ: Elder Uchtdorf emphasized the importance of having faith in Jesus Christ and following Him with footsteps of faith. He testified that as we follow Jesus Christ, there is hope and we can overcome the challenges of life. The Power of Forgiveness: Elder Holland taught about the importance of forgiveness and letting go of anger. He reminded us that any war
is a horrifying violation of everything the Lord Jesus Christ stands for and teaches, and that we each have
a role to play in the gathering of Israel. I learned several things about the value of having trust in Jesus Christ and the effectiveness of forgiveness as we spoke about these themes. I came to see that these ideas are crucial for our spiritual development and may support us in overcoming obstacles in life. Additionally, I developed a deeper respect for President Holland and Elder Uchtdorf’s teachings and their
capacity to elevate and encourage people through both their words and actions. Overall, it was a good experience to teach my parents about these ideas and to absorb what President Holland and Elder Uchtdorf had to say.
