Leadership/Scripture Assessment: Vision/Mission Statement Assignment
2
In reviewing the learn material for this week and for this specific assignment, the Gospel
of Mark speaks very heavily and directly about Jesus and His leadership qualities and affinities
for leadership roles amongst others and servers, too.
For me, the most prevalent verse that I
could find in regards to Jesus and His speeches and teachings on leadership would be Mark 6:7
where it is stated:
“
Jesus not only performed miracles and served others Himself, but gave his
followers authority over certain directives, allowing them to be His hands and feet in the
community.
”
(English Standard Version Bible, 2001, Mark. 6:7) I chose this specific Scripture
due to its nature of relating very much to the topic of applying Godly principles to leadership
positions.
Jesus Himself gave his followers and believers very important tasks and roles with the
assumption and knowing that they would be spokespeople for Him.
I feel the very same
principles apply when it comes to any leadership position in today
’
s day and age.
When viewed
through the lens of Christianity, if one is to be gifted with a leadership position
–
it becomes of
the utmost importance for said individual to carry the torch for Christ in whatever actions may
hold bearing over another.
This goes for decision-making, conduct, respectfulness, and so on
and so forth.
Thankfully, for my own situation, I work for a company that empowers believers to
be able to stand on their own two feet and fight for their beliefs and what they consider to be
decisions of integrity and morality.
To close out this paper, I want to touch on our mission statement at my school, Oklahoma
Connections Academy.
Our mission statement is the following:
“
Oklahoma Connections
Academy will help each student maximize his or her full potential and meet the highest academic
standards through a uniquely individualized online learning program, which includes a flexible
schedule, high-level teacher interaction, a rigorous curriculum, and family involvement.

Leadership/Scripture Assessment: Vision/Mission Statement Assignment
3
(Pearson Education, 2022)
As this relates to the topic at hand
–
we give our students the
autonomy to be able to advocate for themselves and put themselves in charge of their own
education successes and accomplishments.
This takes a certain level of leadership.
As a teacher
for this organization, I try to instill the qualities mentioned in the Scripture above to be a lap for
Christ and also a leader for my students day in and day out.
