My favorite paragraph from Elder Holland's talk, "Knowing the Godhead," is
as follows:
"In our learning, let us not neglect the fact that the doctrine of Christ—
of the Atonement, of faith and repentance, of charity—could not be
fully affirmed without acknowledging an equally special doctrinal
foundation in the person and powers and role of the Father. These
truths invite the Holy Ghost to bear witness of the Savior and to testify
of the Father in the way that only the third member of the Godhead
can. Together, we rejoice that we know this separate, individual
witness of the Father to be a divine gift through the Holy Ghost."
I love this paragraph because it emphasizes the essential role of God
the Father in the Plan of Salvation. It reminds me of the importance of
recognizing and understanding the distinct and divine attributes of
each member of the Godhead and how they work together in our
spiritual journey.
