Case Study Report
In 1-2 page(s), write a response that responds appropriately to the requirements and questions for the case study that you have chosen.
What gospel principles or doctrines are involved in the case study, and how do they help to clarify and give direction in addressing the situation?
I understand how it feels when things in a family are not going well. Keep in mind that God has preordained marriage. I am aware that you no longer feel the need to get married in light of recent events. Furthermore, I know God loves you and wants you to make wise choices. And I also know that Heavenly Father loves you and wants you to make good decisions. For example, in his April 2016 General Conference address, Elder Dallin H. Oaks said, "A good marriage does not require a perfect man or a perfect woman. It only requires a man and a woman committed to striving together toward perfection. "Hence when people get married, it does not mean that they are perfect but are willing to put in the work for the marriage to work out without getting a divorce. One suggestion I have is to read The Family: A Proclamation To The World, which says, "The family is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan. Children are entitled to birth within the bounds of matrimony and to be guided by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity." A
divorce can happen for a variety of reasons, including abuse and adultery, which can sometimes erode spouses' trust and feelings of love for one another. The second thing I'd like you to know is that marriage
is not an option; rather, it is a commandment from our Heavenly Father and a key component of the Plan
of Salvation. We can understand this more by reading D&C 49:15 "Whoso forbiddeth to marry is not of God, for marriage is ordained of God unto men." D&C 131:1-3 also reinforces the importance of
marriage as it is a requirement to enter into the highest kingdom of glory, which is the Celestial Kingdom; "In the celestial glory there are three heavens or degrees, to obtain the highest, a man must enter into this order of the priesthood, and if he does not, he cannot obtain it."
Drawing inspiration from the proclamation, scripture block, and talks, discuss what resources you would
use to address the dilemma and how those resources would be helpful.
In a culture where keeping God's commandments is taken for granted, making a significant life decision like marriage might be difficult. If the individuals begin to feel overwhelmed, they might pray, read the scriptures, and meditate on them to get insight. Therefore, we are urged to seek God in the scriptures. Matthew 11:28-30 is an excellent reminder of this. A
re there specific things you would suggest that could be done to help resolve the issue?
I would advise you to include God in life-changing decisions such as marriage since they require time and insight to succeed and prevent divorce. When preparing to be married, be ready and willing to put in
the effort and ask God to be at the heart of it all
.
