Please use this template for Week 02 Assignment: Prayer and Revelation A. Write a 100–200 word summary of what you learned from the preparation videos. B. Complete the Scriptures table with your insights on effective prayer. Nephi 16:21– 23 Example: Invest yourself in the solution. 1 Nephi 16:28 Example: Guidance comes according to our willingness to follow it. 1 Nephi 17:7 Example: You may have to pay a price for the answer you want—climb a mountain first 1 Nephi 18:1– 3 Type your example for 1 Nephi 18: 1-3 here. 2 Nephi 32:1– 9 To receive revelations, it takes consistent prayer and a continuous effort to seek answers, not just a single prayer. Enos 1:1–17 We should pray with effort and humility. Alma 33:1–11 You can pray anywhere, not necessarily in one specific place. Alma 34:26– 27 We should continuously pour out our hearts in prayer. 3 Nephi 13:7 When praying, it's important to have a conversation with God instead of just repeating words. 3 Nephi 18:20 We must pray in Jesus Christ name 3 Nephi 19:24 The spirit will help and inspire us to what we are praying for 3 Nephi 27:29 We need to take time and ask for answers from God; we can't expect immediate results. Ether 2:14–25 Prayer is an essential commandment that we must follow. C. Complete the Prayer table on the differences between the Zoramite prayer and Alma's prayer. Zoramite's Prayer Alma's Prayer First thing learned: It is necessary for them to pray in their synagogue. They raise their voices while praying to make sure they are heard. He didn't go to the holy stand expecting to be heard by others. He knew the true nature of God, understood His character, and knew how He performs.
Unfortunately, their knowledge about God and His nature is incorrect. They are unaware of whom to seek guidance from. Their prayers are filled with lies and arrogance. The prayers were also repetitive and didn’t do anything Second thing learned: After praying, they would not rest their hearts and minds until they had gathered once again at the holy stand. During his missionary work among the Zoramites, he prayed with truth and inspiration from the Holy Ghost. His prayers were focused on asking for strength, comfort, and success for himself, as well as for the Zoramites. D. Include both of your responses to two different slides from the Prayer and Revelation PowerPoint. 1. Choose one slide with a question(s) and respond to it with at least three sentences. 2. Share your thoughts about your favorite slide with a quote. Please write at least three sentences I would advise my friend that it's important to communicate our needs to God, as He cannot help us if we don't ask for His help. Additionally, I would suggest keeping a prayer book to help her stay focused and keep track of how God answers her prayers. I really appreciate the quote from Elder Boyd K. Packer. It's true that in today's world, there are many things that can hinder us. Therefore, we should take the time to sit down and pray to our Father in heaven, creating a clear space to hear His voice.
