Response: Reading this week allowed me to develop an improved awareness of these facts. In 2 Peter 2:1-3, it is stated, "But there were afalse prophets also among the people, even as there shall be bfalse cteachers among you,who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that dbought them, and bringupon themselves swift destruction." (2 Peter 2:1-3), warns us against the false prophets who are all around us. It is definitely a blessing from
God that all of the Saints are on the path that will lead us back to our Heavenly Father through restoration. Throughout the Restoration, we discovered the importance of having a live prophet of God serve as His spokesperson. Because there is so much evil and falsehood around us that attempts to impair our Heavenly FatherThe restoration is a true blessing from God. Throughout the Restoration, we learned the importance of having
a live prophet of God serving as His spokesperson. Because there is so much evil and deception around us that tries to stymie our progress on earth, these passages encourage us to recognize the need of searching for the true prophet of God. The prophet is essentially God's spokesman, warning us of imposters who try to lead us astray. Word Count: 207 3. Synthesis: Personal Relevance and Application to the Real World
There are many serious challenges people encounter on a daily basis that are consequences
of living in a fallen world. The readings this week of ‘
The Need for a Restoration
’ as well as the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ have tremendous power to help people find answers, rise above problems, or simply feel God's love and concern for them again.
Each week you will choose an issue (below) and think deeply about how the truths in that week’s Article of Faith can offer hope to those who are experiencing the problem. If you have another issue that particularly interests you, then choose your own:
abortion
abuse/bullying
addiction
depression
divorce
domestic violence
energy/environmental issues
violence
gambling
genocide
homosexuality
international terrorism
materialism
natural disasters
pornography
unemployment
poverty
racial strife/hatred
religious intolerance/persecution
threats to religious liberty
same-sex marriage
suicide
Scenario: Imagine you are speaking to someone who has experienced or has concerns about
the issue you have chosen. What would you share from the doctrine and fundamental truths that you have studied this past week to help that person? Include why you think these truths and doctrine are helpful and what they have meant to you. Be encouraging with the truths you know.
Write a response in at least 300-450 words
and list your word count at the end of your response.
The world problem/issue I chose this week is:
unemployment Response: With the topic of unemployment, it can be a touchy subject that some people try to avoid. But it needs to be more talked about and shouldn’t be something that you should be afraid or embarrassed to share experiences, difficulties, or struggles with unemployment. In something that is very helpful regarding an employment
is that
