Benchmark - Gospel Essentials Gospel Essential Beliefs The main points in this paper are the gospel essential that will be explained. Christian’s worldview is defined as “the belief, values, behaviors, and assumptions as we biblical informed Christians hold that guide our perceptions about who we are, what the world is like and why are we even here in the first place” (Deane and Stanley, 2009). The Christians believe that there is only one God who exist, as God the father, son, and holy spirit to the universe. For Christians they look at the gospel for a path to life and believing in Jesus Christ will help with a purpose to life. Gospels that are in the worldview of Christians are God, Jesus, and restoration. Nature of God Nature of God is one gospel essential that is seen in the Christian worldview. The creator God found the entire universe. God is a supernatural spiritual being who is omnipotent, omniscience, and omnipresent (Mark 10:27). Christian worldviews believe that God holds three people in himself, God the father, the Son, and the holy Spirit (Diffey,2020). Even though geneses 1 and 2 does not have the holy spirit it is still a creation of God. This explains how God works as the creator and father. The mediator (son), and the holy spirit that gave God the idea of creation. Nature of Humanity When God created his image of man the Cristian believe that it gave man the power to control his creation. Both Gensis 1 and 2 tell the story of how God took 6 days to create the universe and rested on the last day. When God created man there was many different characteristics, he wanted to give them Loving, caring, freedom and free will, reason, creative and sociable, and even more. God thought giving man these characteristics they will follow and worship god as he gave up control of the world. With this god shows his relationship with humanity and rest of his 2
creation. But gods grace did take a step back when Adam and eve ate the apple from the tree in the garden of Eden. (Gensis 3) The Christians hold the worldview that the sins of Adam and eve have suffering and challenges that we face in are humanity as men today. Nature of Jesus Another worldview the Christians shape their beliefs from is nature of Jesus. The belief of Jesus being the son of God, is important to Christians as God sent his only son Jesus Christ to earth and died for our sins. Jesus is also the only one that was in human flesh and is also spirit. This makes Jesus full man and full god as it gave him the power over earth and the kingdom of God. (Greenver,2020). as Jesus being the son of God, it gives him characteristics of mercy, love, kindness, compassion, and humanity. There are many bible verses that show that Jesus has mercy and compassion in Luke 7:12 of when he raised to life a son who is being carried out to his death. Jesus also shows humility in Philippians 2:7 that explains that Jesus was human and severed among men. During Jesus time teaching among men, he was sent to death on the cross and resurrected to heaven where he stands by side his father god where they watch over all their creation. Restoration Restoration in the Christians worldview is an essential part of the religion. When looking at restoration I think of freedom that Jesus wants to bring to men in a new life without sin. God has given Jesus the spirit to get rid of sins, poverty. With the spirit god has given Jesus he can pass the mercy and grace to the people. Many Christians have the believe that a problem can only be solved by the salvation of God where he gives all the grace to them that repent from sins. One of the biggest things Christians believe is when Jesus died on the cross for our sins, he gave us hope. After the fall Jesus restored his relationship with God and man. (McLendon,2020) 3

Christian Foundations In the Christian religion they only believe in one God. The father, son, and the holy spirit that has the power over the universe (Diffey.2020). the foundation of Christian is though gods’ words of the universe, which was made for man. The sins Adam and Eve also show the worldview did in the garden of Eden. They say that the sins that happen in the past with Adam and Eve are why we all face challenging times and sin. Christians also believe with God sending his son Jesus to die for the sins of others, as a sinless, pure hearted would help restore the universe and mankind. According to the worldview of Christians, repentance and trust in Jesus is the way to salvation and restoration (McLendon,2020). Analysis of the Implications of the Christian Worldview Christian worldview is defined as “affirms that God is the sovereign and almighty lord of all existence. The worldview plays an important role in opinions on ethics, culture, economy, and etc. having the belief in one God that is powerful to humans and the eternal life is very important in the Christians worldview. The holy spirit is the text of knowledge, guidance with God. Diffey (2020) states that “while there is diversity within the Christian worldview as there is diversity within any worldview there is unity around the essential teaching of the faith.” The life of Jesus and gods’ words are the teaching aspect to the Christians. But with the death of Jesus Christ on the cross brought salvation to the people that believe in Jesus Christ. With this Christians live a sinless and look up to Jesus as a guide to their life. But many people still are confused on the diversity in Christian, but Paul states in Corinthians 14:33 “God is not God of confusion but of peace.” (The holy bible, English standard version,2016) Conclusion 4
The gospel essentials in the Christians worldviews are nature of God, nature of humanity, nature of Jesus, and restoration which are the views of Christianity. God is seen as the sovereign, and creator of the universe. God is on that is seen as three people the father, son, and holy spirit. Jesus is powerful and mercy over the heavens and earth with his love and compassion. With the death of Jesus, the restoration of life is given back to man and the universe. This is why the gospel essentials are especially important to the Christians worldviews. 5
