ADHD Case Study 2 In this case study we have Steve here presenting signs of having ADHD. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is generally defined as a neurodevelopmental disorder of childhood that impacts academic performance, social interactions and mental well- being. (American Academy of Pediatrics, 2019). Using the biopsychosocial model Steve's case is examined. His symptoms are likely to be caused by a complex combination of biological, psychological, and social factors, and it is important to consider all of these factors when treating him. The biopsychosocial model is a model that incorporates biological, psychological, and social factors to understand how a person experiences illness. It suggests that a person's environment plays an important role in their health outcomes. The model also emphasizes the importance of treating the whole person rather than just the disease. Looking at the first part of the biopsychosocial model, is the biological aspect. When meeting with Steve and his parents some of the questions I would ask is has Steve had any genetic testing done? Is there a family history of ADHD? Does he have any medical conditions that are contributing to his symptoms? Are there any genetic or medical conditions that could be contributing to the symptoms? Using the psychological aspect of the biopsychosocial model some questions that I would ask Steve and his parents are about any history of trauma, stressors, or significant life events. I would also inquire about his coping mechanisms and problem-solving skills. This would allow me to get a sense of his emotional and cognitive development. I would also ask about any environmental factors that may have caused Steve's symptoms. Finally, I would make sure to document all questions and observations. The last part of the biopsychosocial model is the social aspect. When interviewing Steve and his parents I would ask
ADHD Case Study 3 about Steve's relationships with family, peers, and teachers. Explore his social skills, communication patterns, and any significant changes in his social environment. After that first interview I would go back and use the information provided and try to look for any patterns that fit into the ADHD criteria. I would try to identify any potential stressors or risks that Steve might be facing. Looking at the case study some behaviors that stood out to me were inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. Steve's struggles to stay focused during tasks, forgetting assignments, and making careless mistakes may indicate inattention. His constant fidgeting, inability to sit still, and difficulty engaging in quiet activities suggest hyperactivity. Steve's tendency to act without thinking, interrupting others, and difficulty waiting his turn align with impulsivity. Having this information it can be concluded that Steve has the combination type of ADHD. Looking at Steve’s history, one thing that stood out was how Steve was described as a delight in first grade while being in the other grades he had a hard time. In my opinion I believe this was the case because it was said that in kindergarten there was a large class size and a teacher who had just started teaching. This suggests that Steve probably didn't have the extra attention and structure needed. While in first grade it was a better experience because Steve was able to bond well with the teacher, suggesting that a first grade had better structure and the strategies to help Steve. The teaching style and classroom management techniques used in the first grade may have been more suitable for Steve's learning and behavioral needs. Understanding what worked well in that setting could provide insights for intervention.

ADHD Case Study 4 In trying to help the teacher with Steve in the school environment there are a few recommendations I would give to the teacher to help him manage his symptoms. One recommendation would be to have a well-organized and structured classroom setting to help Steve manage his inattention. Another recommendation I would give is to have the teacher set up clear goals and provide him with positive reinforcement. They should also give him regular breaks throughout the day to help him stay focused. Finally, the teacher should also provide him with a safe space for expressing his feelings.
