Introduction Major Depressive Disorder Major depressive Disorder is a prevalent and deliberating mental health condition characterized by persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and a loss of interest in activities once enjoyed. Biologically, MDD is associated with alterations in neurotransmitter function, neuroendocrine dysregulation, and structural changes in brain regions involved in mood regulation. Psychologically MDD can manifest as cognitive distortions, negative self-perceptions, and impaired emotional processing, affecting an individual’s perception of self and the world. Socially, MDD can lead to social withdrawal, interpersonal difficulties, and disruption in work or school. Clinical attributes of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) include persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness accompanied by an overall lack of interest of activities that were once enjoyable. Negative thought patterns changes in appetite, disruptive sleep pattern and decreased energy levels, social withdrawal, suicidal ideation.
