Exploring Family Dynamics LaPorscha Terrell PSY-632-X2305 Developmental Psychology Dr. R February 3, 2024
Exploring Family Dynamics Parenting, finances, culture, and siblings affect family structures, which foster growth. My family shapes me. Warm, dominant parents grow kids. Authoritarianism gives my family freedom and responsibility. It increased work ethic, self-discipline, and communication. Diversity promotes progress. Education kept the middle class solid and successful. Our cultural mix of traditional values and openness made me robust and flexible to difficulties and relationships. Sibling ties boost creativity and EQ. My close sister understands, and support increased my teamwork and communication. Authoritarian parents primarily affected my education. Family encourages interaction, which helps me grow personally and professionally. Identify Key Concepts Parenting Styles Parenting approaches affect kids' behaviour and worldview. Baumrind thinks authoritative, authoritarian, permissive, and negligent parenting effect kids differently (Estlein, 2021). Our family honours authority. We use warmth, control, and expectations. Our beloved family favours freedom and fairness. Support and encouragement promote mental health and self-esteem. Expectations foster accountability and work ethic. Balanced thinking helped me. I learned problem-solving and boundaries from my authoritative parents. My judgment, interpersonal abilities, and lifelong independence demonstrate authority... Social Class and Cultural Variations Culture and society impact upbringing and potential. My family benefits from middle- class stability, wealth, and education. Class influences our lifestyle, promoting knowledge for personal and professional achievement. Traditionalism and openness in our family have
enhanced our experiences. It promotes respect, adaptability, and openness. Middle-class values and cultural openness impact our perspectives on relationships, education, and work. Society and culture shape balance. Sibling Relationships Sibling relationships impact identity, EQ, and social skills. My sister's proximity shaped me emotionally. Our bond offers lasting support and understanding, not just friendship. Sharing experiences, inside jokes, and understanding helps my empathy and social abilities. My siblings' emotional support has helped me endure life's challenges and feel safe. I identify with my family and background. My siblings, especially my sister, affected my emotional growth. Apply Key Concepts Parenting Styles I learned independence and responsibility from my dictatorial parents (Tan & Yasin, 2020). My parents promoted open dialogue and opinion. My upbringing strengthened my decision-making and social abilities. My parents' strong expectations taught me discipline and work ethic. These authoritative style foundations help me progress in issues, relationships, and personal growth. Social Class and Cultural Variations Middle-class life offers security and education. Parents taught me education leads to job and life success. This strategy motivated my academic goals and collegiate devotion. Our open and traditional culture shaped me. Respect, resilience, and adaptability guide my relationship-building and problem-solving. Culture influences my schooling, thinking, and

social interactions. Middle-class stability and culture helped me succeed academically and personally. Sibling Relationships My sister gave me emotional support and sympathy as a youngster and young adult. Life's challenges with a sister have given me a unique viewpoint and lifelong friendship (Howe et al., 2022). Our closeness outside family shapes me. I connect, collaborate, and establish meaningful relationships with siblings. Years of friendship have improved my sensitivity and connection. Sibling support boosts personal and professional relationships. Sister taught me social skills and relationships. Self-Reflection Family shaped my broad education. Accountability, encouragement, and expectations inspire self-motivation. Parenting like this inspired me to graduate. Family encouragement to speak up has helped me be honest and assertive in school and work. I can succeed academically with authoritative parenting. Culture and socioeconomic status indirectly shaped my values and education. Despite middle-class education, my parents' actions hurt my grades. Brotherhood promotes feelings, not knowledge. Although emotional support is crucial, parenting styles affect academic motivation more. Parental authority impacts my schooling. Love, expectations, and independence shaped me. Knowing myself helps me comprehend family dynamics and paths. Articulation of Response My family experiences inform my reflective blog on parenting, social class, cultural disparities, and sibling relationships. A well-organized response includes an introduction, main principles, application, and self-reflection. Precise language transmits concepts. Few
linguistic and structure errors make the journal easy to read. The response clearly explains developmental principles in the word count. Conclusion Contemplation has shown how family and individual development are linked. I loved family more after learning how authoritarian parenting affected my education. This parenting style's kindness, strictness, and autonomy inspired me in school. Authoritarian parenting improves my relationships, work ethic, and decision-making. Impact drives my academic persistence. This new information improves my teamwork, leadership, and communication and helps me grow personally and professionally.
