Principles of Psychology Assignment 1 – Research and Reflection Paper Rationale: In the field of Social Service Work, you are strongly encouraged to use reflective practice when interacting with your clients. Reflective practice is the ability to evaluate your own thoughts, feelings and actions and how this might impact your interactions with others. This assignment is intended to help you improve your concept of self. In doing so, it will meet the following course learning outcomes: Identify the connections among biology, behaviour and mental processes in predicting human behaviour Analyze internal and external factors that contribute to motivation and emotion from a psychological perspective Essentials for Your Paper Psychology is based in APA formatting. All assignments in this course require you to utilize APA formatting. APA resources can be found within the Course Content. The expectation for this assignment is to include a title page, formatted headings, proper grammar and spelling, a website reference, a textbook or online course content reference and a reference page. *Please use headings to organize your work and make your thoughts clear to the reader. You can use the same behaviour as you used in your Research and APA assignment . Include a statement . Below is a list of ideas. You do not have to choose from this list. Use the following questions to guide your writing: Biological Factors How did your behaviour develop from and/or is it maintained by biological factors (nervous system Ch 2, heredity/nature Ch 8, biological motives Ch 9, temperament Ch 8 and 11)? Psychological Factors How did your behaviour develop from and/or is it maintained by psychological factors (classical and operant conditioning Ch 5, observational learning Ch 5, attachment style Ch 8, stimulus motives Ch 9, emotions and reinforcement Ch 9)? Social/Cultural/Family Factors How did your behaviour develop from and/or is it maintained by social/cultural/family factors (culture, peers, media – see Chapter 12 in your text)? Write a report demonstrating your research (using APA) and your understanding of these concepts in relation to the behaviour you have selected. Approx. 1 – 3 pages Step 3: Do an internet search or use ChatGPT to ask: how to change [the behaviour you put for step 1] . If using the internet - Pick one website (does not have to be scholarly) . Tell me the name of the resource you selected and answer the guiding questions below. Be sure to include this resource in your list of references (APA format) at the end of your assignment.
