LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Identify
and
analyze
(visually and textually) urban
development trends and challenges facing selected a
World city of your own choosing and one aspect of
urban development of interest to you with the
learning goal to
formulate
creative and evidence-
based urban development solutions to remedy a
selected urban development issue in a selected World
City with reference to comparative smart practices.
DESCRIPTION
This collaborative
assignment invites you to practice
the role of a professional urban development analyst
and to identify and analyze an urban development constraint/issue/malfunction facing a
selected World city of your own choosing, in the US or globally. The main analytical value of your
WCUDA report consists in:
1.
learning how to introduce a selected World city development performance using the
appropriate indicators and metrics;
2.
designing
logically-distilled,
evidence-supported
practical
solutions
to
correct/remedy/reverse the diagnosed urban development issue facing the selected
World city using key urban development concepts, analytics and comparative smart
practices from both class-discussed and extended literature.
STEPS
Review

expected components and format as well as the evaluation rubric below;

in the student questionnaire form submitted at semester start;

The city under examination could be your city of birth or current
residence, or one you are not familiar with but has grabbed your intellectual curiosity, can be
selected locally, nationally or globally, regardless of its history, population size, prosperity
levels and quality of life performance;

Problem statement (what is at issue, magnitude and claims of harm)

Your World city analysis project (written report and slideshow) project will be evaluated on
the following substantive contents for a total of
