Ronnie Dailey GOVT200: CONSTITUTIONAL GOVERNMENT AND FREE ENTERPRISE (D04) DISCUSSION Professor Norris Liberty University 4/20/2023 The Heritage Foundation The Heritage Foundation is the Organization that I choose for this work. It is an American research institute that focuses on research related to public policy. It was founded in 1973, making significant advancements in matters of policymaking during the presidency of Ronald Reagan. The Organization's primary goal is to promote conservative policies and principles based on limited government, free enterprise, individual liberty, traditional American values, and a robust national defense. For goal achievement, the Heritage Foundation organization researches, gives policy recommendations, and carries out debates on critical issues with policymakers, media, and public influence (Feulner, p. 74). There are several strengths of the Heritage Foundation. These include its capacity to conduct profound research and analyze several policy issues. Indeed, in 2020 the Organization was ranked sixth in its category, ranked by Global Go To Think Tank Index Report. After the research, it offers specific recommendations on administrative, budget, or policy regarding cabinet departments (Feulner, p. 68). Another strength is its ability to effectively communicate its ideas to the public, policymakers, and the media. There are several publications the Organization produces, such as books, research reports, and policy papers, and it maintains an active presence in the media through television appearances. The publication of the annual "Index of Dependence" by the Organization started in 2002. In 2010, it gave tax-related reports, and government dependence, among others. In 2014, it introduced "The Daily Signal." (Shrier, n.d). For the Organization to perform better, it can work on its weakness and criticism areas. For instance, the false claims of voter fraud should be worked on. This weakness is based on Election Law Reform Initiative leader Hans von Spakovsky's alarm about the vote fraud in the mainstream Organization of the Republican Party. Either, the Organization can effectively work if it only focuses on one central line affecting the world, such as climate change. Its too much involvement in American politics has made the Organization seem to lose International focus.
