Foundations of ECE- Week 4 Code of Ethics sets out the ethical values that guide the professional practice of RECEs. A. Responsibilities to Children B. Responsibilities to Families C. Responsibilities to Colleagues and to the Profession D. Responsibilities to the Community and to the public Standards of practice outline the expectations regarding knowledge, skills and actions in six key areas. 1. Caring and Responsive Relationships 2. Curriculum and Pedagogy 3. Safety, Health and Well-Being in the Learning Environment 4. Professionalism and Leadership 5. Professional Boundaries, Dual Relationships and Conflicts of Interest 6. Confidentiality, Release of Information and Duty to Report Each of the six Standards of Practice has three elements Principle - Serves as an important summary of each standard that RECEs must demonstrate in order to practice the profession. Knowledge - Identifies the knowledge related to each standard that RECEs must have in order to practice the profession. Practice - The skills, actions and behaviors related to each standard that RECEs must demonstrate in order to practice the profession.
