Hello class and Dr, B.
During my time here at Walden I have had the opportunity to open my eyes to a new world that I never imagined before. A class I took here at Walden for my bachelor’s degree required me attend a culturally diverse interaction that went outside my comfort zone. I chose to attend a Jewish synagogue ceremony. During this time when I analyzed another religion outside of my own, I became aware of how to become more accepting and open to other cultures. I also realized how similar each religion boils down to wanting everyone to just be a good human. This
project allowed me to apply cultural competencies to effective and sensitive interactions with people from diverse backgrounds and cultural perspectives (Walden University).
During another class here at Walden I was given the opportunity to hypothetically put myself in various ethical situations with myself and a client. This assignment gave me the opportunity to closely look at the APA Ethics guidelines and realize that continued education of ethics is vital to make sure we are protecting our clients and ourselves. This helped me act ethically and reflect other values that are the underpinnings of psychology as a science serving a global society (Walden University). References:
