Week 6 Discussion - Problems, Solutions, Call to Action 14 Unread replies14 Replies Reflect upon the feedback that you received about your outline. Chapter 6 urges you to "adopt persuasion's triple play: Ethos, logos, and pathos." What ethical, logical, and emotional arguments will you use for your topic's problems, solution, and call to action? Why? What tools of persuasion and advocacy will you deploy and how? How will you "build trust and credibility, support your message with writing techniques, and find and develop your own story?" Why? Be sure to respond to at least one of your classmates' posts. Hello everyone, The ethical argument is that there are many people that think only particular people can get certain jobs over others. Regarding ethical argument when discussing promotion from within an organization. The logical argument would consist of stating that every race or ethnicity is competing for a job, but at the same aspect we are one together and working together. The emotional argument for example would consist of someone being judged by their skin color during the process that would affect a person. There have been many articles on companies who judged people based on their looks but ended up being beneficial for that person. The tools of persuasion and advocacy that I will deploy to my listeners would consist of believing it and knowing your story. I think these are the main ways I would be able to draw my listeners in where they can fully understand the topic I’m discussing. I would attempt to build trust and credibility by being truthful of the facts about the topic. I would make sure I showcase reliable techniques that are beneficial for the process. When it comes to writing techniques I would ensure my spelling, grammar, along with research is valid and presentable to my audience. Thank you! Hello Toi, I think you added great insights for this week’s discussion. I like how you simply identified the definitions of ethos, pathos and logos and their importance. I also enjoyed you stating the importance of being transparent while also being complex and building a deeper connection with your target audience. I also would like to be able to experience that while also developing my writing skills.
