Have you ever heard the voice or whisper of God telling you that you are
his beloved child and that He is well pleased with you? Explain. If not, what
is your reaction to considering this?
I tried to think of a time I have heard the voice or whisper of God telling me that
I am his beloved child and that he is well pleased, and I cannot. I have a strained
relationship with God. I wonder if that is why I can recall hearing this.
However, I do believe in Karma and that all things come back around. All good
deeds or accomplishments are noticed in some way. We receive what we put
into the world. I do not make it through my daily life waiting for that voice or
whisper. I do believe that God has been please with me. I consider the ray of
sunshine on my face during a trying time to be comfort from God. When
something good turns up unexpected I presume that is God. Waking up happy
and “healthy” these are gifts from God. I believe we become so concerned with
proving our faith we tend to overlook the smaller acts of approval or comfort
that God provides.
Describe an experience when you felt someone was questioning who you are
or what you stand for like Jesus experienced in the desert. What was your
response? How did your knowledge of God, his word and your relationship
with him affect your behavior, attitude or choices?
Anyone who has delt with infertility has experienced this. It tests your belief
and feels though you are being questioned. I constantly fell that I am struggling
to believe that I am a child of God. My relationship is challenged and have
experienced more darkness than light. I have been asked why I keep my faith or
why I continue this path. I believe that my faith is pulling me through this
challenge. That I will make it to the other side one day. I am rebuilding my
relationship with God slowly; I am working on having a positive outlook and
attitude.
Although Jesus knew who he was, he did not respond to Satan in the
wilderness by defending
himself
, but by reminding Satan of the words and
truth of God. Why was this a better way to respond? How can using the
truth of God’s word help you to know who you are to God and respond to
temptations to act in ways contrary to your true identity? Give an example
We must be comfortable and respectful of who we are. We can doubt our own
faith or choices. By remaining steadfast and honest we can move past the doubt
and darkness. We do not need to constantly be in a defensive state to allow our
faith or beliefs to be known. This is done through action and contemplation. I
believe that living a life that honors God is the best way to display our identity
to those around us. We must not fall victim to the “norms” of our society.
