The feeding of the 5,000 appears in all four gospel accounts.
What is the importance of
this miracle for this to be the case?
Use what you have learned over the previous four
weeks to inform your answer.
(The claims of Jesus etc..) Don't just give your opinion - be
sure to substantiate your position.
The story about when Jesus fed 5,000 people with five loaves of bread and two fish is important
because it proved once again that with the faith of God, he will provide. It also reiterated that
Jesus was The Great Prophet that the Old Testament prophesized. "This is indeed the Prophet
who is to come into the world!" (Crossway, E-Reader). In the story, he also attempts to explain
to them not to come for the wrong reasons. "Do not work for the food that perishes, but for l the
food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the
Father has set his seal." Saying not to look at the worldly rewards but the reward of eternal life
through him and God.
