Describe the personal factors that guide your ethical decision making when choosing to support (or not support) a specific cause. My beliefs are the personal factor that I use to make ethical decisions. For instance, the government has now made it unlawful for ladies to have a fetus removal. For me as a lady I feel that is my entitlement to do what I need with my own body. The government doesn't let a man know how he can do or not manage his own body. Because women were regarded as men's property prior to 1920 and were unable to vote, the world is currently moving backwards rather than forward. Presently here we again in terms of the government letting us know ladies are viewed as individuals, they are viewed as items. Describe the social factors that guide your ethical decision making when choosing to support (or not support) a specific cause. My religious faith is one social factor. In the Book of scriptures (Bible), it says to treat others how you need be dealt with. Another social factor that I have is regard for other people. Not every person thinks or feels equivalent to you and that doesn't mean they are off base; it simply implies they have various sentiments and thoughts. I additionally trust in the establishment of marriage. I regard my significant other as my accomplice in life to tell the truth and be dedicated to him. To wrap things up a social factor that is essential to me is working for what you truly desire. Try not to anticipate that for things should simply be given to you, assuming you need something awful enough you will strive to accomplish it for instance, my higher education.
Describe one way that you can decrease cognitive dissonance in order to realign your ideals and actions. Festinger's (1957) mental discord theory proposes that we have an internal drive to hold every one of our perspectives and conduct as one and stay away from disharmony (or cacophony). The principle of cognitive consistency is the name given to this (McLeod, 2023). One method for diminishing cognitive consistency is to quit clashing with yourself (Lawler, 2022). For a considerable length of time, I have needed to earn a professional education thus numerous things occurred in my life that it has taken this long to complete my degree. I was consistently struggling with myself, for example, saying I'm worthless in light of the fact that I am not a college alum. I have discovered that I am a lot more, I'm a mother, a spouse, a sister, a daughter, and a companion. Thus, I needed to change my conviction that I was nothing except if I had a degree. I am so thankful that I was given the opportunity to complete my degree, but having a college degree is not my only identity. Describe one way that you can increase cognitive consonance in order to realign your ideals and actions. One method for expanding my cognitive dissonance is to remain consistent with my convictions. I accept individuals ought to be dealt with decently and with deference. As I mentioned earlier, it is acceptable if your ideals differ from mine because you are entitled to your own opinions and beliefs. I additionally bring up my kids with the very ethics that I have, for example, treating individuals how you need to be dealt with. Be true to your values and beliefs because they are the foundation of who you are as a person.
