2 Personal Philosophy of Education Education is the key to a successful life professionally and personally. What can one accomplish without being educated? Even the bible says that people Parrish from a lack of knowledge (King James Version,2020). The Bible also tells us that man can not survive with bread and water alone (2020). From experience, education teaches people patience, ethics, morality, and daily functions of living. A person couldn’t survive on earth and have no knowledge of anything, Although many Philosophers believe that genetics and culture play a major role in how children learn ( ). Education is why the world knows what’s ethical, what’s tolerated, what to do, and what not to do. It’s imperative that the importance of education is instilled into the youth in Early Childhood because it is the foundation of learning. Being the foundation of learning means that it is the responsibility of Early Childhood Educators, Parents, and the community to ensure that children develop a heart that is eager to learn. Educators have a greater responsibility in a child’s life. Many parents in society push the responsibility on Teachers instead of making their child(ren) education a team effort. This puts pressure on an Educator, and therefore collaboration is vital. Collaborating is not limited to the classroom or colleagues but is a family, teacher, and community effort. Collaborating gives the people involved a way to share experiences, thoughts, and knowledge to improve the teaching/education experience. Teachers have a great number of responsibilities and must understand that providing a professional, productive, and collaborative environment is a demand. Teachers are leaders who advocate when children are silent in many cases.
3 Personal Philosophy of Education As a leader NAEYC standards are expected and enforced in classrooms. NAEYC principles are heavy on adhering to respecting families as well as the children, but most importantly not causing any harm to them (NAEYC, 2023). These standards were derived from the facts of life through experience with a teacher and parent relationships. It is a proven fact that the state of the relationship affects the level of development inside the classroom. Teachers are responsible for ensuring an environment that is conducive to learning and follows the laws that prohibit any negative impact on a student. Therefore it is imperative to self-reflect as a teacher progresses. Self-reflecting is important in a person’s professional life and personal because many times people go about life never realizing that he/she may be walking or operating in error. Staying up to date with policies, procedures, relevant research, and laws is an important factor in this field. Reflecting on the previously paraphrased fact that it is imperative to learn throughout life, it is also important to stay abroad for all training, policies/procedures, newly found research, and all things that are required by law. The biggest failure is because of a lack of knowledge and most people who lack it are known to be lazy. Sometimes reading the simplest thing can educate you in a major way. Reflecting on the progress made by students and even oneself is a great way to observe, document, and assess for a better outcome.
