Biblical Worldview: Paper Assignment School of Education, Liberty University EDUC360: Foundations of Education (B02) Professor Karen Berkenkemper Kimberly Newman February 19, 2024
Introduction The worldview of Biblical are for the true believers. There are many educators that are believers in Christ in the private and public school system. As educators we have a calling from God that allows us to educate and guide different lives. Teaching from a biblical worldview is not just increasing a child’s knowledge of biblical facts, but it is the complete immersion into understanding that all subjects point directly to our loving God, who desires to have a personal relationship with each one of us. (Jimmie Armstrong) Biblical Worldview I believe the basis for reality is everything that God created himself. In Colossians 1:16 says, “For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. (NKJV) God does exist for it does state in the Bible in different scriptures. God died for us to have eternal life where he died for all our sins. God revealed Himself to us in three ways: in creation, in His word, and in His Son, Jesus Christ. The basis for truth is truthful or honesty. Being an honest and truthful person gives reason for people to trust and believe. Being straight forward gives no reason for lies or making anything type of stories. Psalm 15:2-3, “He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart; He who does not backbite with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend. Being a truthful and loyal Christian will allow people to live a good humble life. We as teachers should lead truth into the students. When we read the Bible there are many values that anchor life decisions. We as Christians should have some of those values to follow in our daily lives. Deuteronomy 7:9 “Know therefore that the Lord your God is
God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.” (NIV) Galatians 22:26 break the values down for the people. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking, and envying each other.” (NIV) Biblical Philosophy of Education The purpose for education as a teacher is to be Christian and carry yourself in a humble way. In education as teachers, we must show niceness, respect, treat people equally, and with peers and students we must show patience. Being true and truthful to the educational system shows values to the basis life for reality and truth. Teaching students the true value of Biblical Philosopy od Education will enhance their learning to be a Christian. As educators we are instructed to teach over and beyond the exceptions. Proverbs 9:9 “Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning.” (NIV) There are many bible verses that teachers can use for life decisions and basis reality. Proverbs 22:6 “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” (NIV) The outcome that should be achieved from in the lives of students as a result of being taught by a teacher who teaches from a biblical worldview will help students to understand the biblical aspects of the academic area. Using biblical aspects in academic areas will help the students to understand the rights and wrongs that may occur in real life. Implications for Educational Practice

Educational implications of growth and development are how physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development impacts the learning process. When students come into my classroom, I want them to learn something new every day. Knowing that I made a difference in some children's lives will help and encourage me to become a better teacher. Knowing that you can help some child by the grace of God warms teacher's hearts to push and strive more each day. Titus 2:7-8 states, “How yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.” Conclusion In conclusion, educators using the Biblical Worldview in the public and private school systems enlighten students on the true concepts of Christianity. In the Biblical sense we must remember the respect of everyone religious beliefs. As educators we must lead by example and set the way for students to understand the Christian philosophy on an educational basis . Psalm 32:8 – “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” For every guidance counselor, coach, or tutor out there, this one's for you. Your words, your lessons, and your heart for your students don't go unnoticed. References:
