Why do you think it is important to know about the different theories of the
press? How do you think this helps one understand how the press works on a
global scale?
If you do not understand why the hand that feeds you, feeds you, you are blind to a
certain cause. To understand the different theories circulated why the press does what
they do you must understand some entity feels the need to inform you of certain
information. This can help one's understanding of how the press works on a global scale
to route out the fact that not everything is there for your liking but also the fact that you
are entitled to some level of information about current global issues and affairs but also
past ones. The past can outline the future if you let it, but it can also open your eyes to
what must change.
In your personal life, which principles of ethics do you already use? What
kinds of decisions have they helped you with?
Deep, deep down everyone has a certain set of ideals they must follow, whether you
learned them from your family traditions or society's many flaws, you know what you
must follow. I believe in righteousness. One must follow what their mind body and soul
tell them to. For me that means I must help what I am capable of changing for the
better, everything could be a lost cause if there weren't people to support it, so I choose
to do what I can. I also believe in humans, I believe everyone will always have a
decision, every single thing you do in life coincides with what path you take, and that is
ever expanding until death, where I pray I have left valuable information, ideals, and
morals for people to follow. And lastly, I believe if you believe, nothing, absolutely
nothing, in this life is unobtainable, whether you must learn every fact there is of biology
to change you're done, or do 5,000 pushups every day to look fit, it is all possible if you
have a clear head, a clear target, and a clear passion to obtain such an outcome.
A clerk at a high-end bakery finds out the baker has been substituting
cheaper ingredients while charging customers for higher-quality products
that are advertised in the bakery’s brochure. Using Spier’s five ethical
“signposts” theory, explain what the bakery clerk can do.
The bakery clerk must be loyal and trustworthy, he should be just, so he should tell
everyone that he is cheating. He should ignore his own personal affairs i.e. money in
this instance. He should respect autonomy, thinking about his own genuine thoughts
and opinions. He shall not harm, so the baker must not physically harm the clerk in
order to change the clerk's process.
