Hi Class, Develop your own pedagogical philosophy statements of beliefs about education. According to my educational philosophies, every child is different and deserves to learn in a dynamic setting where they can develop physically, mentally, emotionally and on a social basis. My goal is to foster an environment where students may reach their maximum potential, and I will do this by offering a secure setting where they are encouraged to express their opinions and take chances. Analyze your connection to a certain theory or theories and explain why the theory or theories match your philosophy. Social Cognitive Theory and Constructivism are the two main theories on which my teaching philosophy is founded. Both theories have an impact on the tasks, games, and instructional strategies I use in my classroom. I'll go over how each theory affects my training in the sections that follow, and I'll also give a specific illustration of an educational strategy I use that is based on the principles of these theories. The first theory that significantly affects how I teach is the social cognitive theory that Albert Bandura (2001) established. Interaction with others is how people learn and students learn specifically when they watch how others behave. For a social cognitive viewpoint, the ideas of modeling and framework are crucial (Bandura, 2001). When more educated or skillful mentors exhibit behavioral or cognitive skills to less competent learners, this is known as modeling. In connection with this, scaffolding takes place if educators make fewer presentations in progression until the learners are able to finish the intended activity on their own. In my teaching pedagogy, I incorporated the social cognitive ideas of modeling and scaffolding. I frequently plan activities for peer-to-peer instruction. For instance, groups of learners are formed to impart fundamental course topics to one another. According to research, one of the best ways to learn is by teaching (Frager & Stern, 1970). The creation of the students' peer guidance is a crucial next step in this activity. I prudently lead each group to prevent confusions. I was quite supportive at first. Nevertheless, in the course this semester, as students took charge of their efficient learning, I progressively lost their support. With the help of this activity, kids can feel in control of and responsible for their own learning. The second theory that has a significant impact on my teaching is constructivism, with a focus on John Dewey's philosophy. Students should actively engage in their own learning, as exposure to academic material outside of the classroom is crucial for student learning (Dewey, 1938). To encourage participation outside of the classroom, I include students in conversations, utilizing, or altering beliefs. Students can develop their cognition and become aware of their value through these principles when they apply the knowledge they have gained in class to their daily experience. References Bandura, A.
