Being a nurse practitioner (NP) instead of a registered nurse (RN) will be a big change for me. I've been an inpatient unit nurse for many years, and I enjoy my job. Having said that, I think that beginning this journey to comprehend the function of an NP would be challenging, but advantageous for my career advancement. I will develop my ability to think critically, assess, establish treatment plans, and diagnose with the required education, training, and clinical experiences in order to get over the impending obstacles. I believe I have met from my previous nursing experiences, that a vital component of high-quality care that aims to enhance patient outcomes and experiences for a variety of patient populations is culturally competent nursing. One thing I've learned over the past years of working with a broad patient base is how important to respect each patient and family's unique set of values, rituals, and spiritual practices. Even when switching to an APN, I anticipate that this will be crucial. My ability to utilize excellent communication skills to build strong relationships with a variety of patients is the second outcome of my defined competency. I'm confident in my ability to assess patients as an RN, but I'm concerned that in my new role, learning how to provide direct care may be more challenging. Registered nurses receive diagnoses and are subsequently trained in interventions. As an NP, my duties would include ordering diagnostic tests and arranging treatments, but with time and experience, I'm sure that my evaluation skills will be good enough to function as a comfortable NP. To enhance my expertise in this field, I intend to carry out additional research and practice refining my evaluation skills. Clinical reliability requires experience, and I'm sure that after hours and hours of clinical, I will feel more at ease. I also anticipate keeping up with current research to remain knowledgeable about the best techniques and behaviors in the setting of choice. I will gain more knowledge, critical thinking, and abilities to advance excellent practice as a result. To improve my thoughts and abilities on my recognized competency as it relates to the advanced practice nursing role, I will take steps, such as depending on constructive criticism from patients, peers, and superiors regarding healthcare challenges and experiences. I would go to seminars, workshops, and conferences; this will facilitate the process of determining my areas of strength and growth. Providing the greatest patient care experiences is the aim
