Review the evidence-based practice project ideas you described in Topic 5 DQ 1. Based on your initial ideas, what types of scholarly nursing research (such as quantitative or qualitative research, peer- reviewed resources, etc.) would be required to further investigate the issue? Select an article related to your topic. Identify the criteria you would use based on the CRAAP test to evaluate the appropriateness of the research. Why is it important to select research that meets these criteria? Evaluate the "CRAAP Test" article from the New Jersey Institute of Technology Library, located in the study materials. Explain the five criteria as they relate to your selected article. The EBP project idea that I introduced in Topic 5 DQ 1 was the application of telehealth for the elderly populations and the barriers that face the implementation. For this study, I believe the quantitative method is more suitable as quantitative research involves the process of collecting and analyzing statistical data that can help describe and predict the area of interest while aiming for objectivity without bias (Mcleod, 2019). To help further investigate the idea, I chose the article "Factors influencing behavior intentions to telehealth by Chinese elderly: an extended TAM model" (Min et al., 2019) and applied the CRAAP test to evaluate the article's appropriateness for the research. The CRAAP test consists of five criteria: currency, relevance, authority, accuracy, and purpose, to help researchers determine if their study can be trusted (New Jersey Institute of Technology, 2021). Currency: the article was published in June 2019 in the International Journal of Medical Informatics Relevance: the article is relevant to the EBP project idea as it studied the behavioral intentions of the elderly population toward the telemedicine system while determining the barriers to better understand the needs of the telehealth system for the elderly. Authority: the article was published in International Journal of Medical Informatics volume 126, and the publisher was Elsevier, a well-known publishing company specializing in scientific, technical, and medical contents. Accuracy: a sample study group consists of 436 elderlies randomly selected through the multistage cluster from four cities in China. The study was unbiased, and the article was peer-reviewed; therefore, the article was accurate. Purpose: the object of the study was to explain the mechanism involving the behavioral intentions of elderlies to use the telehealth system so that the healthcare provider could establish a better understanding of the actual needs of the telehealth system for the elders References Mcleod, S.
