NR520 Module 3 Name: Course: Institutional Affiliation:
2 NR520 Module 3 The important concept from this module is the critical significance of grounding nursing practice mainly on scientific evidence instead of depending on past practices or opinions. A master's-prepared nurse must combine current and previous evidence-based attitudes, skills, and knowledge into practice. Nurses can improve the quality of patient care and patient care outcomes by actively participating in evidence-based practice (Loversidge, 2016). The systematic technique of performing an evidence-based activity allows nurses to recognize knowledge gaps and enact remedies to effectively address them. One major concept stated in this module is the stimulation of the spirit of inquiry. Nurses should continually assess and question the appropriateness and effectiveness of healthcare practices. Rather than accepting traditional approaches or routine procedures without question, nurses should always look for evidence to enhance and support their decisions (Loversidge, 2016). The concept emphasizes the significance of being dedicated to seeking knowledge as well as answers to inquiries within the nursing practice. Comprehending and applying evidence-based practice enables nurses to make sound decisions grounded on the suitable available evidence. Consequently, the approach helps in bridging the niche between practice and research, ensuring healthcare interventions have roots in current and reliable evidence. In conclusion, the module plays a crucial role in providing valuable knowledge about the significance of EBP in nursing practice. The module emphasizes the necessity to seek the spirit of inquiry, follow a systematic procedure to conduct evidence-based activities, and search for evidence to reinforce the decision-making process. By combining all these concepts, nurses can play a key role in enhancing the nursing profession and patient outcomes.
