Building support and maintaining the successful quality improvement of the two-nurse vaccine administration process is essential for an employee of a large clinic in the Northern Midwest. First and foremost, it's critical to make sure every nurse is aware of the significant advancement made possible by this intervention (Hughes, 2019). Effective communication is essential in this context. To share the new intervention's success with all nurses, I would advise setting up a meeting or a presentation and highlighting how it has helped to lower medication errors. The nurses will learn from this and be reminded of the value of following evidence-based procedures. This policy should also stress the significance of routine health examinations and screenings to identify and treat heart disease early on. Promoting regular checkups allows people to get timely interventions and appropriate treatments if they are diagnosed with heart disease. This can lessen the chance of complications and death as well as the disease's progression. In addition, the policy ought to support the introduction of heart-healthy procedures into healthcare systems, like primary care settings incorporating cardiovascular health assessments and counseling (Schmidt et al., 2020). Further, fostering enthusiasm for the two-nurse vaccine administration quality improvement can be achieved through offering opportunities for continued education and training. Nurses can benefit from refresher courses and reinforcement of the importance of their role in preventing medication errors by hosting workshops or seminars on the topic of medication safety and the role of the two-nurse process. Acknowledging and rewarding nurses who follow the two-nurse process consistently can also increase motivation and inspire others to do the same. I would politely voice my concerns if the CFO were to ask for my thoughts on his proposal to do away with the need for a two-nurse procedure when administering vaccines during the summer. I would draw attention to how well the quality improvement intervention worked to reduce medication errors and stress how crucial it is to keep procedures consistent to protect patient safety. In addition, I would talk about the difficulty in finding staff during the summer and offer to look into options like hiring temporary nurses or modifying schedules to allow for vacation time without sacrificing the quality improvement intervention. Even with staffing shortages, patient safety and the long-term advantages of the two-nurse process must come first. References Hughes, R. (2019).
