CLINICAL ISSUE: SOCIOECONOMIC STATUS IN MENTAL HEALTH PATIENTS NIKOLA MALKOVICH WALDEN UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR KELLEE WHITE OCTOBER 1, 2023
CLINICAL ISSUE: SOCIOECONOMIC STATUS Someone’s socioeconomic status can be shaped by many factors, like their occupation and income associated with that income. Factors such as education level, race, ethnic background, familial support system, and community the individual lives in can contribute to socioeconomic status and likelihood of seeking mental health care.
PATIENT POPULATION AND INTERVENTION The patient population covered in this study is mental health patients with inadequate socioeconomic status and may not have the resources to access health insurance. Adequate healthcare coverage is essential for individuals needing medical care and mental health counseling. Providing resources to uninsured individuals facing socioeconomic crises may increase the rate of individuals seeking mental health help.
