For this discussion, the technology I chose is 3D printing. This technology includes creating three- dimensional (3D) items from a digital file. The method has been employed in manufacturing prosthetic limbs, implants, and tissue scaffolds, among other medical uses. Its main advantage is the capacity to produce tailored, patient-specific medical devices and implants. Traditional medical gadgets and implants are frequently mass-produced and need to account for each patient's unique anatomical variations, which can result in issues and a less-than-ideal fit. The 3D printing technique enables custom- made devices and implants for each patient, significantly improving fit and lowering the risk of problems; it can also make complicated shapes that would be difficult or impossible to make with typical manufacturing processes. This enables the developing of novel medical devices and implants that can improve patient outcomes. It is still in its early phases, and several obstacles must be overcome before it can be widely used in medicine. The cost of 3D printers and the materials needed to produce medical devices and implants is one of the most significant obstacles. Printers and supplies currently need to be more affordable. However, the price is projected to drop as technology advances and becomes more generally available. Its usage in medicine can change how medical devices and implants are designed, manufactured, and utilized forever. This technology can improve patient outcomes by providing customized, patient-specific devices and implants suited to everyone. It may also make intricate structures difficult or impossible using typical manufacturing methods.
