Describe the role of occupational therapy in this non-traditional/non-medical setting (consider all parts of the OT process): Describe the type of clients who would receive OT services in this traditional/medical setting (in- clude possible diagnoses): In this setting, clients who have just been admitted into the hospital present with a decline in function from their ad- mitting diagnosis would receive OT services. Clients with sudden, emergent injury, illness, or severe/life-threatening medical conditions such as strokes, heart attacks, respiratory failure, UTIs, and severe infections would receive OT ser- vices in this setting. Describe the type of clients who would receive OT services in this non-traditional/non-medical setting (include possible diagnoses): Describe what the client-therapist relationship will “look like” in this traditional/medical setting: The client-therapist relationship in this setting would be quick with a lot of turnover.
